5th Grade Diabetes Education Results

Since 2003, Lifestyle Center of America has used the ABC’s for Preventing Type 2 Diabetes Program on their campus in Sulphur, OK. Local schools bussed students in for an educational program and testing. In 2008, the center started bringing the program to the schools. A total of four schools participated in the spring of 2008. A total of 230 students attended the diabetes education program out of which 181 had their blood sugar tested. Fortunately, none of the children tested had blood sugars indicative of the presence of prediabetes.

Book Tour Workshops Results

During February and March of 2008 Lifestyle Center of America professionals traveled across America in a tour bus providing Stopping Diabetes Seminars from Los Angeles to New York. The tour provided workshops in 13 main cities and testing at 9 stops. The authors of The 30-Day Diabetes Miracle met with the attendants and provided practical tips attendees could incorporate immediately to see results in their diabetes care.  The results from the tests conducted are below. 347 individuals had their blood sugars tested during the book tour. 25% of those had either prediabetes (9%) or diabetes(16%). 90% of the participants with diabetes exhibited uncontrolled blood sugars. A total of 8% of tested individuals had blood sugar out of control.
