5th Grade Diabetes EducationAbout the ProgramThe CDC reports that 1 out of 3 males and 2 of 5 females born in 2000 will develop diabetes in their lifetime. If your child is of African American, Native American descent, or a Hispanic American male their risk is 2 out of 5. As a Hispatic American female born in 2000, her chances of developing type 2 diabetes is 1 of 2. We don’t like those statistics and we’re doing something about it. Starting in November 2008, Lifestyle Center of America is taking 5th grade diabetes education programs across the country, starting with Oklahoma and Texas.
